When a team from an organizing university registers, their details will automatically be shared with the campus director (the student responsible for organizing the local competition). The campus director will have access to all relevant information about the team and can contact them to share details about the local competition.

The number of judges at a qualifier or local competition will depend on the number of teams competing. The local organizers will recruit at least 3 judges to select the winning team. There is no maximum limit.

Any narrowing down of teams for a final selection must be done by judges using the scoring criteria and guide we provide. The campus organizers may not make any selections themselves. This is to ensure that all teams are given a fair chance. Judges must watch and score the presentations, engage in Q&A with the teams based on their pitches, and then select a winner after deliberation based on the scoring criteria provided by the EF Hult Prize.

Campus directors or committee are not allowed to compete at their own local competition. This is a strict policy to ensure impartiality and fairness. However, campus directors are encouraged to apply with their team via the Open Application path. On the application, they must demonstrate that they were a campus director for the EF Hult Prize, and it will most likely be viewed favorably.

During the EF Hult Prize Global Accelerator stage, startups typically spend their days refining their business model, receiving mentorship, attending workshops, and pitching to investors and experts to prepare for Global Accelerator Finals to be shortlisted for the EF Hult Prize Global Finals stage.

For our in-person Global Accelerator program, we do require that you be primarily based on site (Ashridge House, UK). We provide the space, facilities, resources and our locations are fully equipped and have both traditional and lounge-like space. We believe there is a great deal of value in being in the space together because the other startups and mentors interacting there present a great opportunity -- you can take advantage of the numerous learning opportunities, networking and coaching that will be provided. Our Global Accelerator is a major commitment, and we expect you to be around most of the time. However, if you need to travel for personal or business matters at any time during this period, that is okay by us.

Once you are accepted our invitation to advance into the EF Hult Prize Global Accelerator/Finals stage, we can assist  with legal/immigration issues by leveraging our contacts and network to help. 

The EF Hult Prize Global Finals usually takes place in September each year. The exact date may vary by competition cycle and will be announced through the official EF Hult Prize communication channels.
